One of the standout moments of 2025 was witnessing the late Chadwick Boseman finally receive his well-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. On November 20, 2025, Boseman was posthumously honored with the 2,828th star in the Motion Pictures category — a fitting tribute not only to his extraordinary achievements on screen, but also to his lasting contributions to arts, culture, and humanitarian efforts.

The ceremony took place on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, where family, friends, and collaborators gathered to celebrate his legacy. In attendance were his wife, Simone Ledward-Boseman; his brothers, Derrick and Kevin Boseman; and longtime friends and colleagues including Viola Davis, Michael B. Jordan, Letitia Wright, and director Ryan Coogler.

Speakers at the event recalled Boseman’s remarkable talent, his humility, and the profound impact he had on those around him. Coogler described Boseman as a leader of unparalleled generosity and spirit, someone who gave fully to his craft even when facing immense personal challenges. Viola Davis, who starred with him in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, spoke emotionally about the light he brought into people’s lives and the inspiration he continues to be.

At the ceremony, Simone Ledward-Boseman accepted the star on Chadwick’s behalf, offering moving reflections on his life, work, and the deep faith and love that guided him.

Chadwick Boseman’s body of work spans powerful portrayals of historic icons — from Jackie Robinson in 42 and James Brown in Get On Up, to his defining role as King T’Challa in Black Panther, a character that became a cultural touchstone and cinematic milestone. Black Panther not only broke global box office records and earned multiple Academy Award nominations, but it also resonated around the world as a symbol of representation and empowerment.

His star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame now stands as a permanent testament to a life and career that continue to inspire. Boseman may be gone from this world, but his artistry and the courage he brought to every role will live with us forever.
